“Years ago, I started to think about the world I live in. I thought about the environment and the poverty near me and everywhere else. I asked myself why things seemed to be getting worse, not better.” “The different subject matters in my paintings create different narratives that don’t neatly align. My paintings create a drama, just like a Shakespearean tragedy. I always use the word “God” backwards and forwards. The very word “God” cradles our beliefs and our trust in a higher power. I try to depict what can be the start of understanding and communicating with one another and letting go of the toxins that we’ve created in our world.”
