An Afternoon with Award-Winning Jewelry Designer Alexis Barbeau

Palm Beach Art & Design Showroom
Saturday, May 3, 2025 from 1:00 – 3:00 pm
Artist Talk Begins at 1:30 PM

Join us for a captivating afternoon with national award-winning jewelry designer and lifelong scuba diver Alexis Barbeau, as she presents Elegant Ocean Heirlooms—a talk and showcase inspired by over four decades of exploring coral reefs from around the world. Through stunning visuals and storytelling, Alexis will share how her love for the sea is translated into timeless Fine Art Jewelry using centuries-old techniques like lost wax casting and hand fabrication. Each design—crafted in gold or silver and often accented with natural gemstones or diamonds—captures the movement, textures, and serenity of the underwater world. This special presentation invites guests to connect more deeply with the ocean’s fragile beauty while discovering heirloom-quality jewelry with purpose. A portion of Alexis’s proceeds supports marine conservation organizations, including Ocean Conservancy and the Coral Reef Foundation.

Highlights of the Presentation:

🔹 Seahorse Ring Evolution – A step-by-step demonstration of her signature four-seahorse ring, from hand-carved wax model to final sterling silver and gold-accented piece featuring moss agate and blue-green tourmalines.
🔹 Custom Client Transformation – Learn how Alexis transformed a client’s heirloom jewelry into a stunning custom sea grass bracelet and ring using recycled gold and repurposed gemstones.
🔹 Time-Honored Techniques – Explore the art of lost wax casting and hand fabrication, and how Alexis incorporates sustainability, natural gemstones, and oceanic textures into each unique creation.

Through her designs, Alexis invites viewers to experience the magic of the underwater world and reflect on the importance of ocean conservation. A portion of her proceeds supports organizations such as Ocean Conservancy, Coral Restoration Foundation, and Reef International.

This event is perfect for collectors, design enthusiasts, ocean lovers, and anyone passionate about the intersection of art and sustainability!
