These paintings exude music and movement; each stroke seems to vibrate like a jazz note. I wanted to name this series ‘PURPLE,’ not only for the strong sound of the word, but because purple itself evokes depth, mystery, improvisation—the same qualities that characterize jazz. The title already opens a poetic space where painting and music intertwine. Purple is sound and vibration before it is color. It is the resonance of a saxophone in the shadows, the hand caressing the piano keys, the double bass holding the pulse of improvisation in memory. In this series, each musician is a fragment of the jazz symphony; faces captured in the intensity of the moment, hands turning into landscapes, bodies merging with their instruments as if they were extensions of themselves.
