Description

Labyrinth of Heavenly Phantoms

We live simultaneously in two worlds: in reality, and within ourselves.
Outer life seems like a straight line — day after day, event after event. But inner life is different. It resembles a labyrinth where time does not move forward, but flashes — suddenly, unexpectedly, like light in the dark.

Our subconscious constantly sends us memories.
Sometimes they arrive without any reason: a scent, a sound, a color, a shadow on the wall — and suddenly an entire scene from the past opens inside us. These moments are firmly tied to us by invisible threads. They return again and again because within them are hidden warmth, joy, a sense of home, childhood, love, and safety. Such memories seem never to leave — they live close to us, simply in another dimension.

But there are others — the ones that do not stay.
We feel them for a second, almost touch them, but the thread breaks. They dissolve as quickly as they appeared. And we can no longer bring them back completely: only a sensation remains — like the trace of a touch, like an echo.

These fleeting images are the “heavenly thantoms.”
They are not frightening — on the contrary, they are gentle and luminous. They are ghosts not of death, but of time. Ghosts of what was once real, but now exists only within us.

The painting is about memory as a living being.
About the fact that we do not always choose what to remember.
About how our life is made not only of events, but also of flashes, symbols, fragments, and threads that connect us to who we once were.

“Labyrinth of Heavenly Phantoms” is a space where memories do not disappear, but transform into a delicate inner architecture of the soul.
And as long as at least one invisible thread remains unbroken, we feel warmth, joy, and a connection to our truest selves.
