Evolution of “Family Stuff”: A Two-Decade Journey
The “Family Stuff” series, initiated two decades ago, is a remarkable photographic odyssey where Huang gathers a family’s belongings from various corners of their home, meticulously arranging them in an outdoor space. This unique method serves as a powerful lens through which Huang documents history, revealing the internal spaces of households against the backdrop of external environments. Initially set against the backdrop of China’s rapid economic development, modernization, and globalization, Huang’s staged photographs provide a dynamic social panorama.
