INSTALLATION EXHIBITION
We are pleased to present “Emerge Yourself” Art with a Purpose a curated Installation Exhibition on Thursday, February 2nd, 2023 from 6 to 8pm.This Immersive experience blends Jane Baldridge’s Oceana Phenomena series and Michelle Drummond – The Flow of Water series. Both artists are driven to share a powerful messages about nature, elements and the necessity of water for survival.
About the Artists:
Michelle Drummonds artwork exudes the true expression of her quest for life and the undeniable influence of her rich Jamaican culture while navigating and coping in unfamiliar environments. Drummond creates vivid and whimsical 3dimensional pieces that use multicolored, multi weighted yarn, on and off wooden panels. Each piece captivates the viewer by demanding awareness, hope, and courage to embrace current events affecting communities.
Jane Baldridge lured by the sea her works revolve around her memories of being a sea captain for over 30+ years. Her practice involves translucent and opaque layers of water-based media to pay homage to the oceans and rivers. Her work has expanded to include 3-dimensional human forms, covered in recycled navigational charts of areas at risk of flooding and pollution, and then water and waves (are painted) rising up their bodies.
