Description

This original, conceptual photograph showcases the Palm Beach Zoo Flamingos enjoying the water spray of the entrance fountain to the zoo. I went to the zoo on a crazy hot, August, late afternoon by myself with my camera to see what I might take photos of. The flamingos was the first exhibit I saw. I took hundreds of digital photographs of them were in their watery habitat. At the end of my walk through the zoo I sat down on the ground in front of this wonderful spout fountain to watch several children play, run and enjoy themselves. The scene was so amazing to watch I shot a few more hundred images to finish the day’s excursion. On reviewing the digital photos, the images of the children were the best ones. I was so in love with these care free beautiful children. However, I knew I couldn’t use them so I replaced them with the flamingos. I had to rebuild the entire fountain from the bricks to the spouts, splash and reflections. In the end, I believe I kept the sensation of fun and freedom I witnessed with the children…which is why I titled this piece ‘The Celebration’. KASHA
