Join us at The Design Showroom on July 14th from 6-8:30pm for an enlightening evening with two exceptional artists, each offering a unique perspective on their artistic journeys. We are delighted to present two captivating artist lectures: “From Dreams to Cosmos” by Liu Yang & “Visual Poetry” by Jingyu Xu.

Liu Yang was born and raised in China, moved to USA in 2022, currently is living and working in Peoria, Illinois. Since 2015 Liu has studied and experimented with creating Photograms. A photogram is a photographic image created without using a camera. It is a technique that involves placing objects directly onto photosensitive paper or film and then exposing them to light. The objects block the light from reaching certain areas of the paper or film, resulting in a shadow-like image. This process allows for the direct transfer of the object’s shape and form onto the light-sensitive surface, creating a unique and often abstract representation.

Embark on a cosmic journey as Liu Yang unveils her innovative approach to merging the realm of dreams with the vastness of the cosmos using the fascinating technique of photograms. Witness the magical transformation of light, shadow, and objects as they converge to create celestial compositions. Discover how dreams, the subconscious mind, and the beauty of the universe find expression through this unique and mesmerizing practice.
Following each lecture, attendees will have the incredible opportunity to personally meet and greet the artists. Engage in meaningful conversations, inquire about their artistic processes, and deepen your understanding of their unique perspectives.
